Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173)

What We Collect

When you register or use AmakanPH, we collect information such as your name, contact number, gender, province/municipality and barangay, account type, profile photo, and — for sellers — property listing details, photos, and transaction-related messages.

Why We Collect It

We process your information because it is necessary to provide our services to you and to fulfill our contract with you as a registered user — for example, creating your account, letting you post or browse listings, and enabling communication between buyers and sellers (Data Privacy Act of 2012, Sec. 12).

Who We Share It With

Your public profile information (such as your name, photo, and listings) is visible to other AmakanPH users as part of the marketplace experience. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Limited information may be shared with service providers who help us operate the platform (such as payment or messaging infrastructure), or when required by law.

Your Rights

Under the Data Privacy Act, you have the right to be informed about how your data is processed, to access and correct your personal information, and to request the blocking, removal, or destruction of information that is inaccurate, outdated, or unlawfully obtained (Sec. 16). You are also entitled to be indemnified for damages arising from unauthorized use of your data (Sec. 16[f]), and to request a copy of your data in a commonly used electronic format (Sec. 18, right to data portability).

Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes, after which it is deleted or anonymized.
